Can Kidney Disease Cause Emotional Pain? In this video, the Warriors Quest Show will be spotlighting Gretchen Jackson. Gretchen lives in Tuskegee, Alabama. She was diagnosed with FSGS, focal segmental glomerulosclerosis. Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) is a disease in which scar tissue develops on the parts of the kidneys that filter waste from the blood (glomeruli). FSGS can be caused by a variety of conditions. FSGS is a serious condition that can lead to kidney failure, for which the only treatment options are dialysis or kidney transplant. Willie Blackwell, who was a football standout at Atlanta’s Morris Brown College, is in desperate need of a kidney transplant. His doctors told him to tell everyone that he needs a kidney transplant and don’t be shy about it. Blackwell played at Morris Brown in the 1970s and was a star linebacker. He played three seasons in the NFL before injuries cut his career short. After football he spent four decades in business, mostly in metro Atlanta. He is also an ordained minister who has always helped others.
